Hi Terry good to see you ok ,welcome back to the fray ,,what watch are you on ?, or have you been able to wangle daywork . The overtime is pretty standard 3 a day .The food can be grotty at times . But watch out for the 2 steward called Cappy as can be very tight-fisted at times and has the ear of the old man.The chief steward is trying to make a name for himself by keeping the feeding rate down and is angling for a purchasing officer in the office. Welcome home ... JS.

Welcome back Terry, got a note to explain where you been.??
Cappy says you still owe him 2/6 for that last round.
John it is a ruddy long time ago since you could a round of drinks for ''half a dollar'' Den
In 1956 you could buy FIVE Glasses of beer for 5r0 cents, [ half dollar]
in the Market Diner facing the Cunard berth in New York. 10 cents a glass
We would go to the Blood Bank, give a pint of Blood for $5 and get 50 glasses of beer for it
saved on the subs.
Cheers
Brian
