Off for a week
Sunday
I am off to Sunny Fleetwood
in the rain again
I like to go to Fleetwood
Its better than France or Spain
I can see the ships go sailing past
bound for Douglas and Belfast
and watch the sun set on Morecambe Bay
at the end of a perfect day.

Re: Off for a week
#1 Brian , may of asked you this before, have you any connections with Reggie Asplin, he was a chief Steward I sailed with. He had been an officers batman in the British Army during the war. He was friends with Danny La Rue, and after the war they put on a Vaudeville act together called Soldiers in Skirts . Ran for some time at the old Empire Theatre in Newcastle. JS...

Re: Off for a week
A Skipper from Fleetwood called Brian
Set a course North North West for Cairnryan.
Halfway up the coast to his Mate he did boast
"Feck knows where we are-but I'm trying!"
The Mate ,a jolly young man from Knott End
Said "Skip,don't worry let's pretend
we know where we are now we've got this far
Cheer up have a Fisherman's Friend!"
Sorry Brian .Best I could do.Thought you'd like the Knott End connexion.
Happy Holiday.Don't forget your Fleetwood mac-and I don't mean your CD's!
