Well I am buggered, well actually the computer was buggered.
Hackers anonamous got in via the back door most likely.,

They put a remote control on it and i could not get rid of it.
Fixed now at the cost of $140 which is not bad by todays rates.

    Maybe more to follow later.

    But I am back!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I have used the free version of Avast for years now never had any problems.
Also clean out my desk top now and again take the side off lift it outside and give it a blow with compressed air from a can to clean out any dust.

I have been using Zone Alarm for several years never had a problem. My wife was using Norton often had problems , now using the the same Zone alarm as me as you can share the same licence with two other computers at no extra cost.

Once you have found out the Version Victoria, and done the Upgrade, set it to do Automatic Updates, that will inform you when they have been done

Defender is good enough for your needs , but always be wary no matter what you use, as there are those out there that can get past anything!

My computer has two security systems on it.
    Microsoft Defender and Norton Security.

The bug got in through an e- mail no doubt hidden on the back.

Guy in the computer shop told me that he and all others in his field are one step behind the hackers, some of them have created systems so they know how to get into them, turn rogue and off they go,
