Vern, Billy's research is always very interesting to read because mostly will involve the Merchant Navy. Billy is an ex Merchant Seaman and knows his stuff alright as most members do threw life at sea experience, I have been a member here since 2008, 13 yrs and made a lot of friends and come across a few i sailed with over the years, I Am not against a member seeking information on forefathers sea life, But i think you cant let the research for all landlubbers to jump on the bandwagon which i am afraid to say that is how i see it. p.s I Am not alone in my thoughts there are quite a few members stopped visiting the site for the same reason. Good health Vern Terry.

    Hi Terry
Yrs mate and not wishing to make an issue of this nor fall out with you long time Friend, it is however a site that as said is catered for may other Subjects so as to allow all Members to ask questions .
There are as you say a few that have decided to stay away due to this issue, one such is Hugh who was a very good Poster as well, but that is their own choice Terry, and one cannot please all by just sticking to one Subject
Anyway i will end this now , no more comments regarding this.
Hope to see you as said back in the Flock at full tilt Terry
    Cheers

Vernon, it is the likes of RLT and others with their dry humor that help to make some days more tolerable.
You, Billy and Marion do a great job with research for many, but the hanger on who often follows with the same story can be very boring so I fully understand where RLT is coming from.

Last I heard he was off to Iceland, would have thought UK was cold enough as it is without going to there.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#24: Sadly, you still do not understand public forums.

Best start over, go back to square one, do not pass go etc, reread the rules.

john in oz......you are wasting your time..... ....it is a site for seamen ...and other members of the public ....sadly much space is being taken up by his cut and paste on any subject that appears.....it is then followed by a falling out with the original poster......three in the last two days ....i can only assume it is as a child attention seeking constantly ....or a very unhappy person .....muchly bitter about life in general....he would not have lasted 5 minutes on any vesssel i was on .....or many others were on ...but there are no ports to see that he missed the ship on this vessel ..sadly R683532

Go back to bed and get up again, your oppo is doing all the cut and paste of late.

Did you not promise to be good before coming back ?

Settle down dear, tried to both ignore you and dismiss much but,

ted we have all in honesty lost your input and seaman like approach ....i enjoyed your wit and sarcasm ....which was always humerous ....there are many things on the site which will change in time ...some progressive some not .....it is the way of the world ...i personaly see no problem in people seeking any info ....as long as someone is willing to spend time and money doing it ......what i cannot abide is the constant cut and paste ...from a certain member on every bloody post that is made ......but if that is my biggest problem in life i count myself a lucky man.....it was never calm at sea every day ...get your seaboots and sowester on ....seee you shortly ...hopefully R683532
