That iron ore port in North Africa Sfax , was always full of Legionairres . Must have been one of their r n r places. The Casbah was down by the head with them , the Casbah was one huge brothel so must have saved the French Government some money. I spent the night in a Legionairres base in Mogadishu when the French were pulling out , got caught up in the riots, and pulled out by a couple in a jeep. The bar facilities in their halls of residence were very salubrious. Cheers JS

heard a Story of some US Troops getting into some fix there JS, not too sure on it all but apparently the Army Officer in charge was heard to say that they should contact the Foreign Legion Troops to assist.
This did happen and the Legion got them out of the fix, but being the US they covered it all up, and did their best to not mention that the Legion had assisted them.
Even many Years after no one will admit to the participation of the FFL there!
    Sad !
    Cheers

!979/1983 when had brief contacts with special forces of various denominations , always meant to ask Keith as he is into small boats. Even then the SBS had attack boats similar to rescue craft , the only difference was they had battery powered outboard engines , and they were on you before you realized they were there. The talk today about battery driven cars is old hat to some, but still wonder if they are cost wise reasonable to run, and if so why dont more private owners have them , much more equitable for bird watching of the various varietys . especially of Kiwis in Bikinis. Cheers JS...

The Kiwi, a bird of distinction only comes out at night.

But the bikini clad ones will come out for anything, they do, like a challenge.
