Re: Off around the planet again on Sunday.
Komodo Island on St Patrick,s day will be fun.
Unless you have a tour booked there, and there is only on type, you are not allowed ashore.
The Komodo Dragons are something from a bygone age, prehistoric one could say, and do not get too close, they bite.
Tourism has been good for the island and it' people but now they have put a limit on the number they will allow on there, too many are putting the island under pressure.
I might add that all the remaining ports of call after Darwin will be made via the ships tenders.
Hope his sea lega are still good! LOL

Re: Off around the planet again on Sunday.
A bit like it was Years ago John like some of the Canary Islands .
I recall going ashore in a Tender at Madeira and Ascension Islands,it was fun for me the first time, and was lucky to be given permission to go .
Loved those Times! Remember Jacobs Ladder and those what was it 999 Steps, gosh and we used to do it quite easy,i recall some of the Locals just sliding down on the Curved Bannister Rails I did give it a try after one young local tried to show me how but fell off LOL You should have seen the Kids laughing at me ! Grrr! LOL

Oh yes forgot about the Girl I met at the Top of Jacobs Ladder she worked in the little Shop that sold little Souveniers and seconded as a Post Office as well. As I only went there twice while at Sea there was not much going on unfortunately, but did manage a few Kisses and cuddles out the back of the Shop, could not do much more up there LOL Lovely Girl she was with a beauty of her very own, sort of Eurasian Type Features!

Re: Off around the planet again on Sunday.
The number of ports now used by cruise ships where the ships tenders have to be used grows at an alarming rate.
On of the men in our Friday group has just returned from a ten day cruise around the south sea islands.
Sadly Jack had a very serious stroke and I in a wheel chair for most of the day.
As a result he could not go ashore in any of the ports of call.

Re: Off around the planet again on Sunday.
They will be back in time for the change of the clocks which I understand is the last Sunday in March.
Then they can look forward to the English summer, you know when the rain is warm.
Happy daze John in Oz.
