Bye for now
With mixed feeling I have decided to take a sabbatical from the site.
As a member since 2008,I didn't come by this choice lightly.
We are all aware that a lot of back biting and personal slander has been going on of late.
For myself, I have become hesitant in my comments, for fear of rocking the boat.
This is not what I signed on for.
I will miss my morning ritual, reading the more sensible posts.
However of late, this has become a bit of a chore.
Also will miss my friends on site.
Not too mention the ones who have already gone before me.
And I don't mean just the ones who went to Fiddlers Green.
I shall check in from time to time to see how things are going.
I wish the very best for Brian and his staff.
At times they have a thankless task.
Best wishes to all.
Respectively.
Den.

Re: Bye for now
Oh no Den
I am saddened by your post and your decision, but fully understand how you feel right now,as I too feel that sad empty feeling of not being listened to along with Brian our Leader who has worked so hard to make this site a good and friendly one.
But as you so rightly say things do seem to have gone pear shaped in certian respects, and I only wish (actually Pray) that all this would stop, but does seem that no matter what there are some and I make no mention of names here, that seem to thrive in making a post into something that to start with is quite a good and innocent one.
So for now anyway Den,please do pop in as you say to see how things are panning out,and possibly there may be some Harmony in sight!
Take Care Den
All the best
Vernon
We will keep in touch that's for sure!

Re: Bye for now
Den, I am dismayed at your choice to leave.
I am only too well aware that things have been rough of late, mainly since 'Benjy' arrived and thankfully was kicked off.
Den we cannot afford, or even contemplate, the departure of a good member such as yourself.
You have always been a good natured person and one that I enjoyed communicating with.
I appeal to your good sense of comradeship to please reconsider your decision.
If you go who is going to make the bloody Tab Nabs??????????????????????????????????
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Bye for now
den i was in the same mind a few months ago then i used the ignore button we are all old some sick not only in health but sick of the way we have become? think of the people behind the running of the site a nightmare when a new thread is started what could go wrong one wrong word and the wolves gather but like all wolf packs they turn on each other take a few days to clear the head and slowly you will participate in the site again like me you like a laugh that's the only thing keeping me going some can say what they like about me but the payback will make them look stupid we have been shipmates for years some of our friends although some we never did have a chance for a handshake people we would empty our pockets for have crossed the bar we owe them with our history of the sea and its way of life that no longer exists but our friendship is still there whatever rank department its a very true saying we are all in the same boat and we always made the best of it stay well my friend and come back soon.. jp
