I am going to be away for a few days
Tomorrow at 0730,I will be attending the Edinburgh Royal infirmary, for a hernia correction operation, I’m told this is a common operation, but I am still apprehensive, I had stomach cancer over three years ago, my surgeon removed 2/3ds of my stomach and all was well.
The hernia has come through the operation scar, my surgeon the same one that did the previous operation says it’s a simple procedure..........I hope so, see you all in about five days.

Re: I am going to be away for a few days
Hello Bill
I am sure all will be well, these days Surgeons are terrific and new procedures are used every day!
I had a Hernia Op some Years back now,it was then quite Painful, but not too bad!
They used the Clips to fix me together and some sort of Gauze to wrap around the Hernia,it is as I said quite some Years back but still absolutely fine!
In fact I recall the Surgeon telling me that the Gauze was a lifetime thing,it was a kind of soft Metal. Relax mate I know its not always the best place but what can one do ! Pecker up !
Cheers

Had the same thing Bill, four years ago and all went well. It saves pushing the darn thing back in and having 'Mum' carry the shopping.

Re: I am going to be away for a few days
All the best Bill, i had that operation last January, 2 days in hospital, the mesh across my stomach is stronger than the original stomach wall i was told, just enjoy being surrounded by lovely nurses, and remember they cannot lock you up for what you think !!!, kt
