very glad to hear that new Bill and as a lot here said these days is so much more advanced,although they cannot stop the pain LOL
But it wont be too long and you will be up and about hopping like a Spring chook mate!
At least you can now say whew! all done and dusted!

Great news Bill, sorry to hear you were in for three days.
I was in and out in one, no drain and very little pain, but each case is different.
You will be fine once the wound heals up a bit.
Did they put mesh in, in strengthens the muscles and should prevent it occurring again.

Yes John, Mesh in, plus 2 drains, and a catheter also, I was kept in an extra night as I was scheduled for CT scan booked for the 20th a different issue

Sounds like the problem was the same as mine Bill, surgeon told me afterwards the hernia was the size of a baby head, 9 stitches across the stomach. My weight was the main problem, chicken wire !! inserted, again told its stronger now than the main stomach wall, great this old age lark, kt

Unlike the one I had done in 65 there were no stiches on the outside this time.
Skin held in place with a massive waterproof dressing which I had to keep on for two weeks.
