Re: Ill
Had my annual full blood test back in October, all well apart from one small matter. My red blood cells are slightly enlarged which can result in low oxygen getting through the system.
Cause, low levels of vitamin B12
Cause of low B12 levels.
Alcohol strips the B12 from the system as does reflux medication.
Solution, drink less, you are having a lend of me there.
Cut out or down on Nexium.
Continue with monthly injections of B12.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Ill
Hello everyone, back home at last. I was treated well in hospital but its far better to be home. I've had all sorts of tests whilst there and they went through my history and found the cause of my fall. It came down to a very low haemoglobin count, whilst I have been taking Iron tablets for some 12 years but now the dosage has been increased by 300% (One pill Three times a day) I was also given an Iron Transfusion before I left. Strict instructions from the doctor. Do NOT stand up quickly when getting out of a chair, if I do feel dizzy when stood up see my Doctor right away. He told me it was a common problem with people my age 76.
I'd like to thank you all for your get well messages they were much appreciated. I am still not fully recovered and was seen by a head injuries consultant before I was discharged and he told me that I had four large skull , fractures and numerous small one and a broken nose but he didn't think they needed an operation at this stage because they would heal naturally in about 12 weeks. So ladies and gentlemen if you stand up quickly and go dizzy go to you doctor don't take any chances. I'm glad to be back
Once again thanks for everything.
John.
