Re: M.V. Limerick
Couldn't have been the same bloke as Norrie was still only about 17 when taken off by the RN. He is dead now also poor old sod. No doubt he would have known most of them confined to the prison ship. Norrie finished up working for World Wide Shippinjg of Hong Kong. He was in drydock in Middlesborough one time and came up to see me and wanted me to go as mate with him, I was working for J.I.Jacobs at time so had to turn it down. His wife divorced him and he later finished up in an old persons home and has been dead a good few years now. Hang on to what you have unless want to finish up lonely, however as seamen we were all lonely at times, used to make up for it whenever possible. Tried phoning the son just now and got no answer no ring on phone line or anything are you under water up there or something as he only lives a few miles from you. Unless they have all gone off the main phone line and are all using mobiles now. All the best for New Year and don't make all these Good year Resolutions you are not going to keep in any case. All the best love to Pat. Cheers JS

Re: M.V. Limerick
Hi Cappy.
I'm just recovering from Xmas, went down the daughters place Wed before Xmas had a lovely dinner, started to rain soon it was so heavy had a job seeing the road on the way home. Put the car in the garage decided to leave the gates open changed my mind went down the steps hit a tiny lip on the concrete drive, did a high dive onto the concrete, thought to myself while flying " This is going to hurt" hit the driveway like a rugby forward going for a try, skidded to just short of the gates, shut them. Got inside grabbed two towels went up the hall groaning with blood everywhere, wife came out nearly fainted, end result skinned knees, skinned elbows, skinned and bruised palms and a very bruised ego, been limping around like a sick dog, but I'll get there.
Happy New Year
Cheers Des

Re: M.V. Limerick
I’m trying to find if there are any colleagues of my father in law (Gordon Reynolds) out there? He served as a Junior engineer on MV Limerick (built 1954) on a couple of runs to Australia in the 1962 to 1964 period.
Sadly, he passed away on Sunday and but I am hoping that someone out there who remembers him from his MN days is on the forum.
