hi all. im trying to get a photo of the bristol pilot boat ,mv queen mother. i was galleyboy on her in 1965,before going to sea training school in cardiff. i have been able to find out quite a bit about her but no photo. can anybody point me in the right direction to a site that might have a photo of her. mv queen mother bristol & avonmouth pilotage authority built 1955 built by hill & sons, bristol sold to risden beazley ltd & ulrich harms.salvage in the 1970s any help would be greatfully recieved. thanks geoff

hi all. i have managed to get a photo of the pilot boat Queen Mother.put it in my album under my ships.i hope to put photos of all my ships in the gallery soon. best wishes geoff

Hi Geoff A bit late on but you may still be interested. Photographs of the Queen Mother are also available from the Bristol Docks Industrial Museum - they also have a builders model of the vessel. I was a Bristol Pilot apprentice for 2 years from 1960 at Barry on the Queen Mother. Also the George Ray and Nancy Raymond when they were on station whilst the QM was in drydock. I have attached a couple of pics that may be of interest. Regards Pugwash

I too was an apprentice on the QM at Barry in the early 60s, also spent time on the George Ray and Nancy Raymond, both at Barry and Avonmouth. Also the Sally Organ at Avonmouth. Regards David
