Re: The Man from Tregantle, Torpoint, Cornwall.
Doubt if an English snake would have enough venom to kill, but if the recipient was in poor health it may.
Lucky he was not here and got bitten by a Brown.
Few weeks back we were coming back from a trip and stopped on a roadside pull over for a coffee break.
Just sitting there and Terri said to me, what is that coming here'
Looked down and there was a Brown, maybe only last years as not so big.
Sit still and ignore it I said.
Terri put her feet up on the chair.
I sat there eating my lunch and looked down, the bugger was sliding across my feet.
He kept going and went on through the fence into grass,

#53 Tony during my times with Runcimans , the managing Director of Moor Line Ltd was a bloke called believe it or not a Mr. Blackadder, my mate christened him the negro Accountant, incidentally he had been a bomber pilot during the war and he brought his rear gunner into civvy street as the stores and personel manager , both were good men I must say however. Cheers JS.

I remember a little girl being bitten by a snake in the UK, and she died, I think it was around late 30s, possibly didn't have the anti venom in those days.

Right there Des.
Think antivenene for snake bite only came along after the war.
But as you know here in Oz every hospital carries antivenene with so many dangerous snakes around you never know when you may need it.
Flying doctor service also carries it.

My son has a granny flat at our Granddaughters house, he was sitting outside having a smoke when this big brown snake came around the corner and went under a small shed, his neighbor came over and when it came out he chopped in in half with a spade, I would have been up the nearest telephone pole.
