Currently there is no extra charge on EV here in Oz, though our state p[remier attempted to put a 2.5 cents per klm on them.
He was shot down by feral gov as only they can impose such taxes.
But it will come, if EV sales rise, and they are slow at present, then a tax will be imposed to replace lost fuel excise

Petrol down here has been up to around $2-30 a litre now down to around $1-70, just in time for me to fill up for the next month or so, I use that little I don't take much notice of the price, and I couldn't tell you what an electric car looks like, though they have quit a few connections in the Super markets.
