Thank you for your kind words.
I told my wife the sad news yesterday and naturally she too was overcome - more so at us not following up after our dinner to say one last goodbye
to the old girl - but as she so gracefully said, reflecting the George Harrison song - All Things Must Pass.
I am a bit of a modest bloke (except when it comes to those "Remoaner" chaps!!) but perhaps I will contact The People's Friend and get their thoughts on the tale.

My wife has read it for years, since we have been in Cooma when she has read them gave them to my daughter who took them into the old folks home , they loved them, now since they have closed she gives them to the Grand daughter who takes them to some old people she knows.
