    Its got to be old age,but i am not sure who this is.
    The ship is Fred Olsens BALMORAL.

    Don't know who it is either, but looks like 'full astern' on the port engine and 'standby' on the starboard engine, and if its not a twin screw, then the telegraph is broken and someone should have told the sculptor

    No Ivan, its an artists impression of a nautical clock, set and 10 past eleven.

    first trippers were told not to lean on the Telegraph as you could stop the engines, which as cadets we knew was not true as we brassoed the bleddy things every morning

    Last time I swung a Brass telegraph was on the Autolycus built in 1949. Think the last time I swung a telegrah was on the Bibby LPG carrier Lincolshire she was built in 1972. the Telegraph was still Chadburns Liverpool but was not a chain link graph.
