I always remember my Granddad telling me about all the gas and smoke from the 1st world war. He used to say he was worried that the gas would be able to kill people in years to come. He wondered where all the smoke from the guns and bombs went, plus all the fires caused.
I think nature will sort it all out one way or another. Look at all the wars and things going on at the moment, it all seems to be happening at once. All we need is for Putin, the chinks, or the fat bloke to get ambitious while the rest of the world are distracted by the Hamas thing, and other events.
Nature can make people think differently when it wants, after all, we are a part of nature, aren't we?

Norwegian owned Equinor , yet another foreign owned company controlling UK enegry. They have also been given the go ahead to produce oil & gas at the Rosebank Field.

Hundreds of new North Sea oil and gas licences to boost British energy independence and grow the economy. I wonder how many of these companies will be British owned and opeerated?
Will the profts made end up in the UK or in foreign banks.
We have sold everything but the Crown Jewels.

The licenses are granted to companies that know what they are doing, not to some gov department who would not know gas from a fart.
These companies specialize in such work, have all the equipment to do the task in a functional manner.

It is known as outsourcing .

    Johnny.
A memory there for me, in infant school in 1935 and I had my grandfathers first world war gas cape to wear when it rained, as it always seemed to do then, the point at the back dragging through the mud and the rain. My Grandad unfortunately died of gas poisoning in the early twenties.
But my wife say's the same things, what happened to all that gas , the explosives then and since must have done something to the atmosphere.

As a kid, I used to have my Granddads greatcoat on the bed to keep me warm.

John, the work of various departments with in government is supposed to be for the well being of it's citizens and the economy of the nations wealth and resources.
That is why governments award contracts to companies that are equipped and specialise in undertaking to abide by the specifications laid out in the terms of the contracts.
I call it business ,. My understanding of "outsourcing" is a contract that has been awarded to a company who then brings in a sub contractor to do either part of the work or all of the works required.

Surely a Fart is Gas , just so you know

There are various types of outsourcing, govs use the one where the contract is given to a suitable company rather than some public servant attempting to do the task themselves.

Not as odd a that may sound, very often with the help of' advisors' most who could not even advise on how to keep the fart in.

But the smell would be the same.

Fact remains, govs ae not elected to run any form of business, they are just there to make the rules.

I would have thought they were elected to run the country, now that to me is a pretty big business , but really it is the Civil service runs the country under the supposed instructions of Government ministers.

So what happens now in Oz after the NO vote ?

The NO vote won hands down as we all knew it would.

The gov now says it will consider a treaty with the first nation people, but are very cautious about such matter snow.

One of the big leaders of first nation said it was an excellent result as now we can go forward as one nation, not one divided on race..

I’ve given up on even thinking about such rubbish. Why do they need a treaty , we are not at war with them . We are all Australians and supposed to be all equal in any case. Every thing I see or read in Australians short history has been done with good intentions , there may have been bad cases of individual misbehaviour as there always will be with any part of mankind. They could call the big mistake of politicians taking the vote to the country ,talking about treaty’s one could call its Comedy of Errors , one stupidity after another. ? JS
