Mike,
wonder if she was a charter ship, can find no ship of her description in the Safmarine book.
Also Safmarine ships had white painted masts, she has brown painted masts.

Definitely Safmarine funnel, as we were on charter to them, that's the only thing the company (PSNC) allowed to be changed, so the grey hull is a Safmarine colour, so maybe the original owner's colour or on long term charter

Have been looking all over but as yet not come up with the goods!
Would she be classed as just General Freighter ? or Bulk Cargo , those Four large Derek's ???

She was built as Simoa for Norwegian owners, Skibs. A/S Akersviken - C.Gorrissen & Klaveness A/S, Oslo at Fairfield's yard Govan in 1953. Yard Number 759. Launched 30/04/1953 and completed 28/10/1953
In 1958 she became the South African Transporter and in 1966 S A Transporter.
She was scrapped 28/12/1972.

I spotted her on another MN group I belong to.

At the risk of getting shot down, Doc the correct spelling is Derricks, but they are not four derricks, they are four masts, you should lay off the cider at that time of the morning
