His MBE (Civ) was gazetted 30 March 1920. For services in connection to the war in a long list of others.

Marian’s link to Lawson’s medal card from the first world war stored at the National Archive gives a document that has the name of the Eastern Telegraph Company and an adddress of Electra House in Moorgate. A google search of the address gives a result that shows how important that address was to national security as the telegraph cables of every embassy in London were routed through it.
