Default Search For Army Service records

An old friend and ship mate has asked if I can find any records of His Fathers Military service. Unfortunately the guy died in a car crash which my friend survived in the late fifties. He has 1 newspaper clipping that mentioned His dad was mentioned in dispatches and nothing else. His Fathers name was Dennis James Perks. He was born in Chertsey Surrey with no date of birth known He served in the Manchester Regiment (Tanks) Which is not a lot of information but if anyone can help I know that it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks J.W.

Might get something here you have to be a next of kin to access the Gov. records https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records

    or here https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki...Records_Online

    Another site to try https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/

My brother used this site and signed up and paid for one month , got the info on my uncle who served in WW2, and then cancelled the subscription. It gave details of where he served, the batttalion he was in, where he was killed and the medals he was awarded.

    Hello JW
This is pf course no certainty but is the only one i can find on FMP. UK
It is a paid Sub site, but one can get a Single Purchse for 1.50 GBP.

So it may be worth a look?? But as said i really cannot say !
    Cheers

We still do really need a bit more info if at all possible !

If it is his Death Notice, it may just have some info that could help ???
