Re: NATO & World War 3
Well said Rodney, the insults that get hurled at the USA from some on here is disgusting. Yes the USA has faults as many nations have. In a nuclear war one of the first cities to be targeted has to be London, an easy target. People on these Islands need to remember they still are able to speak English because of the sacrifices made by thousands of young men from the USA , Canada and many other at the time British Empire nations in the last WW.

Weapons producers B A E systems ranked Number 4 in the world. I am in my 70's now and in no decade during my life the British/UK have not been involved in a war somewhere in the world.

Re: NATO & World War 3
"...There is no mention of a nuclear war... " You MENTIONED ...That the "US would start WW lll..."To create mayhem in Europe and start World War iii". Do you seriously think that the looser in WW lll is not going to go down fighting with all it has got? That the Marquess of Queensbury rules of a sort will be in effect? That Putin, Biden, your new PM, MPs, royal family, our president, senators, congressmen and the movers and shakers of every country want to see the death of their spouse, children, grandchildren, all loved ones? The survivor's, the loss of their wealth? Gold would be worthless, food would be king, followed by guns and ammunition to guard the food.
World War iii would not be sung to the refrain of "Over there, over there, for the Yanks are coming, over there." it would be nukes coming from all who have got them The thought of that is what is going to stop WWiii.
Not like WW ii where Churchill could hunker down in his bunker and tell all that their fathers and sons will meet them on the beach etc. and Roosevelt safely in the White House, DeGaul in England, etc.
You can bet the bank there is a bomb laying ready with the HQ and the name of the major opposing leaders ready to go off in the first wave. And both sides know it.
I'll surmise even further. If Putin or Biden said, "Nuke em", I don't think any of the generals who are supposed to give the orders would obey, and lose their family and possession, pension and retirement to a dacha in Russia or the golf links in the USA, or the corner pub in the UK.

#71. The BlackHorse, The Ship , and the One further down the road, The Monkseaton Arms . Did you get to them over the Xmas period anytime. The Monkseaton Morrismen and Folk Dance group used to dance outside each of them . Every morrisman had a tankard attached to his belt and after the show were invited into each hostelery to sample the brews of the trade , not being a Morris man myself I still used to take my tankard on the strength of my wife being a member and a teetotaller , however always found I had to pay for mine , the tight-fisted Baskets.JS

Re: NATO & World War 3
Rodders, thank you for your sensible input.
A war of that kind would see the likes of North Korea having a field day no doubt.
Sadly so much crap comes into conversations at times like this.
AS to the gas explosion, latest bit is that the explosion took place on a large holding tank, not the main line of the gas, most of that gas is now on the sea.
Even Putin at his worst is not that stupid as to endanger one source of revenue for Russia.
In a similar manner nothing for Joe to gain by destroying it.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Well Rodney, it must be true that the US is blowing up the pipeline. Another explosion has been heard and a Russian minister claims that, that piece of pipe is controlled by US intelligence.
Oops, got to duck another pig flew by.

Re: NATO & World War 3
hi john sabourn #96
good morning, ( a tale of morris dancers ) back in spain i believe about ten years ago a village outside granada which had a sizeable uk population, whom had become part of the very life and soul of the village, the mayor thought it was a fitting gesture to thank the new arrivals and sought out a morris dance dance troupe from the uk to star at the fiesta, low and behold it became evident that the residents where more than susceptible to i believe the blacked up dancers, notably because spain unlike the uk has a fiesta practically every time the light goes on or the fridge door is opened, and part of those fiestas is to celebrate the moorsish rulers whom ruled spain for nearly eight hundred years, and as the moors obviously had black faces and so do those caricatures played by the spanish, unlike this country where they are now made to paint themselves blue.
