Default Buying photos of old ships?

Iím writing a book about my dadís life and would love to include the many ships he was on during 1947-1973

Iím sure most are copyrighted. Probably all are.

Just wondered best place to buy them to use in my book.

    Any advice?
    Thank you
    Bob

Not sure if this link would be of any use to you? https://www.gov.uk/copyright/how-long-copyright-lasts Do a search on Ebay as there are often photos on there forsale, but perhaps those selling them may just be ignoring the copyright of the original owner?

Why don't you list the ships here as some members may have photos of them. I did an OU degree a few years ago and was advised if we used third party photos or info in our course reports/projects we had to acknowlage the sourse not sure how this applies if you are using them in a commercial enterprise though.

#3 I have already stated to Robert that I left the Rosewood in July 1972 if his father was on this vessel after that , he has the post of a crew member after this date . This is the only ship on that list I was on , if the other poster of the same ship hasnít replied there is nothing more I can do. Hope he finds someone with more info. If his father was part of a London Dock Street crowd there may of been a chance I passed him during a sort of crew change but without further info. I know nutting.Cheers JS

    Hi Bob
That is one long list mate, and it will take some doing to post all here.
I have a long long line of Ships , and all would be OK to use, as they are not Copywrited as far as i know!
The only was i feel that this would be done, is for me to send them through (That is the ones that i have ) to your Home Email, which i can get through the Admin, so dont post it here.
I will do a test first and see if you get the test Email, then we can go from there, but it will take time Bob as i am awfully busy

Think she was an Ore carrier Vernon the name sounds familiar .JS.
The ones on BISCO Charter used to have their own Radio Shedule every day saying where they were, today with computers it would probably be called a blog. JS
