    A PRAYER FOR SEAFARERS:

Lord God, we depend on you for life itself, and on
seafarers to meet so many of our daily needs. Watch
over all who go down to the sea in ships – on business,
for leisure, or to rescue those in peril or difficulty. Keep
them from danger, befriend them in loneliness, and
bring them safely home to those they love; through
    Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

A PRAYER FOR THE SHIPPING INDUSTRY:

Almighty God, we pray for those involved in the
shipping industry:for those who build, or own, or
manage ships. Give them the will to care for those who
go to sea, and grant to all who work at sea the blessing
of safe ships, good food and just rewards for all their
work; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

    A CONCLUDING PRAYER:

Lord God, be the canoe that holds us in the sea of life.
Be the rudder that keeps us on the straight course. Be
the outrigger that supports us in times of great testing.
May your Spirit fill our sails to carry us through each
day, and keep our bodies strong so that we may
paddle steadfastly on in the voyage of life. AMEN.

    THE PILOT'S PSALM

The Lord is my Pilot, I shall not drift. He guides me across the dark waters. He steers me in deep channels. He keeps my log. He pilots me by the star of holiness for His name's sake. Yea, though I sail 'mid the fenders and tempests of life I shall dread no danger for He is near me. His love and care shelter me. He prepares a harbor before me in the homeland of eternity. He anoints the waves with oil, my ship rides calmly. Surely sunlight and starlight shall favor me on my voyages and I will rest in the Port of our Lord forever.

    Psalm 106 /107
They that go down to the sea in ships
That do business in great waters.
These see the works of the LORD
And His wonders in the deep.

For He spoke, He summoned the gale
Tossing the waves of the sea
Up to Heaven and back to the deep,
Their soul melted away in their distress.

Then they cried to the LORD in their need
And he rescued them from their distress
He stilled the storm to a whisper
All the waves of the sea were hushed.

They rejoiced because of the calm
And He led them to the haven they desired.
Let them thank the LORD for HIs love
The wonders He does for men

Also a reading from Mark Ch 4. 35-41. Jesus calms the storm

    Regards
    Brenda

I remember hearing "a prayer for the shipping industry" from my uncle when I was little. My uncle was also my math tutor.
