references on CRS10 form for Orlando Davis
I'm looking into the service of my Father in Law, Orlando Dennis Davis R282249, I've obtain ed a copy of his
CRS10 which shows that he served on 3 ships as a stewards boy, a couple of spells on the California Star and he was one of the
21 survivors after it was torpedoed in 1943.
he the served on the Lanrick as a Steward from 29/7/43 to 6/7/45 when left the service which according to him was operating
as a Q Ship. I've managed to find out that it spent a lot of time in and out of ports around the Med but not what
it was doing. Is there ay way of finding out this info.
Also On the CRS10 there are a number of sealot references 5471/43/138 Gibraltar is one, I've not been able to find what these refer to does anyone have any idea.

Re: references on CRS10 form for Orlando Davis
Hello
We have had a few queries as to that Sealot not that i know what the Ref Numbers are but most all the Documents with that Sealot on, refers at some point to Sealot is a reference to a passage on board a ship he was not signed on as crew. Possibly travelling as DBS back home.
eg of some references
Arrived Naples from Marseilles 19.11.44 Sealot 20,622/185/Naples m.d. 29/11/44
EMPIRE BAIRN 21.12.44 Sealot 21494/227 Naples ** 3|45 11.6.45 sick for repatriation
Sealot 26688/177/Suez m.d.11/7/45
So hope that this may just help a wee bit!
Cheers
The following will give you an idea as to what the Ship (Q Ship ) may have been doing ?
