Ship funnels
Can anyone name for me the festival that was held in Liverpool, some 10 to 20 years ago.
They had a small railway and numerous ships funnels.

Re: Ship funnels
Mike you have got my brain working overtime mate, The only one i can remember was a celebration of the overhead railway when they actually built a small section for enthusiast's to relive the experience, But i cant tie ships funnels into it leave it until i make some enquiries see what i can come up with Regards Terry.

Re: Ship funnels
The Garden Festival was great. It was an absolute disgrace and waste of money that it was left to fall into ruin. I think there might be houses there now? Do you know anything about that, Terry?
When you queue up for the Ferry (across the Mersey) there are Funnels/ House flags on the railings on the floating stage. Maybe these were salvaged from the Garden Festival?

Hi Brenda, Your post is quite right it was in 1984 but in 2011 $6.000.000 was injected into the site that is still there,
A man walks through the newly restored Festival Gardens site in Liverpool, northern England, June 9, 2011. The site was originally the home of the 1984 International Garden Festival but fell into disrepair in the following 27 years before undergoing a 3.7 million pounds (6 million US dollars) restoration. REUTERS/Phil Noble (BRITAIN - Tags: ENVIRONMENT SOCIETY) It seems most of the pictures i can find Mike are Copy Rite here is the link to the pics Regards Terry.
