I will say Bibby Line only because Bibby Line are a Liverpool based company and Bank Line were not.
Graham if you look at the photo in #24 if as you say Salomon pink for Bibby , that looks like Salmon/Nipple pink showing through , looks like a bad refurb job and the painter did not get his colour chart out .

Good reasoning Lewis.Yes,likely meant to depict a Bibby funnel with the Liverpool connection.
We regularly touched up/ completely repainted the funnel at sea- vulnerable things,funnels- exposed to heat,sunlight,salty air etc....
This image here is not a bad rendition of Salmon Pink,but some shades do border on the Buff..... in various light-look at the second funnel for example.OIP.jpg

We had the Liverpool Garden Festival in 1984. It ran for 5 months. Attracted 3.4 million visitors.

Very hot at times John, especially in the tropics,at times hard on the knees, but one of those jobs when finished always added to the look of the ship, better than a week on the windy-hammer where-in you tasted rust for a week after finishing

I live just a mile from the ships funnels on Otterspool promenade and frequently walk around the part of the 1984 Festival garden site that is still used by the public. Half of the old Festival garden site is currently being developed for housing but what’s left, which is still lovely, is well cared for. I’m in Spain until later this month but if you want me to take a photo of the ships funnels when I get home I’m happy to do so and post here.

The windy hammer was a great alarm clock on some voyages, deckies started very early then.

Remember on one ship, the Bosun*told one of the deck hands that the funnel*had to be painted.The deckie replied.What colour would you like it. lol.

Painting the funnel on Shaw Savill ships was straightforward, wouldn't like to paint the likes of Blue Star.
Always used to be a job n knock, except one trip on the Icenic, the mate wouldn't give us a job n knock so we took 2 days to do it.
