    Default RNLI Ferry service

So who agrees with the English Channel RNLI Ferry service. These economic refugees are putting their own lives at risk and they know that.
They should be returned back to France and the RNLI Ferry service should either remain in port or escort them back to were they have come from which is France. These people are travelling all the way from Southern Europe why are they being allowed to get this far.

France has accused Priti Patel of a breach of trust over threats to withdraw UK Channel migrant cash over its failures, and attacked her “dangerous” and “illegal’’ plans to halt crossings at sea.

In a strongly worded statement, the French interior ministry hit back at threats by the Home Secretary to withhold the UK’s £54 million over France’s failure to stop more Channel migrant crossings, warning it could lead to a “serious” breach in relations.

Issued ahead of a G7 meeting where Ms Patel will encounter her French counterpart Gérald Darmanin on Wednesday, the French ministry also warned of a “break in mutual trust” if she went ahead with “illegal” plans to give Border Force new powers to stop, board and redirect migrants’ boats.

In an ominous warning over the impact of any fracture in relations, the ministry said it wanted a “co-operative approach” but “if the British Government were to choose another path, we will know how to draw the consequences”.

The French intervention is likely to provoke a backlash from MPs who have blamed France’s soft tactics and refusal to turn back boats for fuelling the surge in migrants.

The row follows Ms Patel’s declaration to MPs that she is prepared to pull the £54 million promised to France in July if it fails to stop three in four crossings by the end of this month.

A record 13,500 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats this year, including 1,000 in the past two days. Just 200 were prevented from crossing by the French on Monday, when 742 reached the UK, prompting a government source to urge France to “get a grip.”

Why is the UK paying France 54million pounds? be better if they bought more patrol boats with it and turned back the boats themselves.

I don't know John, but I don't think they are capable of running the country, and that has nothing to do with any politics, I must be getting old or something.

A Royal Navy boat brought migrants rescued from the English Channel into Dover Harbour on Sunday,
apparently for processing purposes? The large British naval vessel Vigilant had received the migrants
    from French naval ships.

We had similar problems here in Oz, then we got tough.
Not had a boat for well over 8 years now.
There have been a few spotted but towed back to Indonesia where they set out from.
All the Navy has to do is run regular patrol boats along the coast line.
But kit is the French you are dealing with and they still remember Agincourt
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

The RNLI has lost its way, making money available for swimming lessons for females in Bhurkas in Pakistan and other countries, the RNLI when criticised, said 'we can do what we like with our money' seeming to forget it was not their money, but belonged to suckers like us who thought our contributions were heading for new lifeboats and facilities.

The RNLI was formed to respond to emergencies at sea and we were/are thankful for it, its role was not to patrol the English Channel looking for foolish illegal transients who had set out in unseaworthy craft knowing full well that the various channel taxi services. RNLI, HMCG, RN, Customs etc, would pick them up and deliver them to our shores free of charge.

What chance would we have of being in Dover and hailing one of these waterborne taxis and saying 'excuse me as you are on your way to France to rendevous with a French vessel for human cargo transfer, you couldn't give me a free lift could you, so I can get to France' ...answers on a postcard please!

The RNLI do not patrol the English Channel. That is more to do do with Coast guard, coast watch and RN etc.

Volunteers answer distress calls, launch for the shout and return to base after a mission.

‘Every year, our lifeboat crews and lifeguards rescue around 30,000 people. We do not judge a casualty on what circumstances have found them in trouble. Our crews are tasked by HM Coastguard in the UK and the Irish Coast Guard in Ireland to rescue anyone who is at risk of drowning. They go home after a shout secure in the knowledge that without their help, the person they rescued may not have been able to be reunited with their own family. That is why they do what they do.

    RNLI Chief Executive Mark Dowie.

Once landed, crews have done only what they were called out for and return to base, ready for the next shout.

Again, once landed Pretty Patel and co take over, any flak should go to No. 10 via you MP.
