A bit more on this today in the Daily Mail:

    Back you go:
Border Force jet skis are seen herding dinghy in apparent rehearsal.

GB News: The channel's Home Affairs & Security Editor, Mark White, agreed with Farage, saying the clip 'does show that Priti Patel appears to be serious, at least in trying to implement this turn back policy in a limited fashion'. Another group of migrants are brought into Dover on a Border Force vessel as Channel crossings continue.

Quite amazing what we can get from a cut and paste from the daily papers on here. Do none of you buy one any more?

As to turning boats around, here in Oz we turned them all back no matter the size or how many in them.
If you do not do that they will continue to come.

The distance from France yo UK is not that far, unlike Indonesia to Oz.
So turning them back is not so hard, but the gov may be too soft.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#132 John why this fetish about Cutting and pasting?? How is it any different to U tube or other links that are also put on the site?
I don't know how to do any of these anyway... certainly doesn't bother me.
I don't open the other links or u tubes as my IT guy has asked how secure the other poster's computers might be? As I don't know he said to err on the side of caution.
As for pushing back the boats... we in OZ received world wide condemnation for that policy.
I think the problem in UK is that the channel isn't all that big so the access is far easier than what we faced out here. With our policy there was a lot of loss of life at sea.
It's not an easy thing for anyone involved. Either for the refugees nor the countries who feel they are being swamped by them.
The world isn't a good place right now so people are being forced to do things they may not normally do.

We did Victoria, the world did not like what we did.
But it worked and has to some degree stopped all the would bees on Indonesian soil.
Funny part of that was that many actually flew to Indonesia to get the people smugglers to take them the last leg.

Yes looking at the SBS news last night I agree, the world is in a mess.
But by far the worst countries are those where the religious might rules.

Wouldn't it be better to send a few guys with 54 millions in their pockets to buy up every rubber boat in France

They would use the money to buy more.

    just sink them,
Tell them if they cross the line they will be sunk, the choice is theirs ,. If you want to be sunk come over, if you do not want to be sunk do not come over .SIMPLE, PROBLEM SOLVED'

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT ???????

NO ONE GETS SUNK UNLESS THEY WANT TO BE SUNK., EVERYONE IS HAPPY

I note the French authorities are not trying to control the sale of these boats, they cant all be nicked. Chandlers must be raking it in.

France has banned the sale of inflatable dinghies from Channel towns in bid to stop
migrant crossings - but doesn't stop them being ordered online and delivered.

So would you like this to be your grand child, I certainly would not want it to be mine. The people smugglers need to be brought to justice. It has to stop.03_aylan_w-None.jpg

My grandchildren are not illegal migrants trying to get into my country, so I don’t have any worries on them ending up dead on a channel beach, keep them out I say
