Irrespective of which political party they come from, be it at local council level or at parliamentary level, all of them are greedy barstewards and even when they loose their seat for whatever reason they seem to think that their self importance gives them the right to swerve the rules on most of daily life and that they are experts on any and all subjects under the sun , whereas in reality they are has beens who cocked up in there political life and should shuffle off and attend their gardens or something, we just don't want to hear or see from them again.
Don't expect PM's and MP's receive a decent pension once they give up political life?

The average person is happy to have enough for their needs, but these people just want more and more
Problem is they will go to any extent to gain it, legal or otherwise.

Ernest Marples did two decent things during his days in politics Premium Bonds and Post Codes.
He was also buddies with a certain Doctor Beeching who took the axe to railways network.

As Postmaster General, he saw the introduction of the Premium Bond scheme and of postcodes. His period as Minister of Transport was controversial. He both oversaw significant road construction (he opened the first section of the M1 motorway) and the closure of a considerable portion of the national railway network with the Beeching cuts. His involvement in the road construction business Marples Ridgway, of which he had been managing director, was one of repeated concern regarding possible conflict of interest. Marples appointed Richard Beeching to head British Railways, who published a report which abandoned more than 4,000 miles of railway lines in the UK with a resulting rise in the amount of road traffic.

In later life, Marples was elevated to the peerage before fleeing to Monaco at very short notice to avoid prosecution for tax fraud.

Started up an energy company, that went bust at £37m. Council now has 3 months to sort it out before the council is taken over.
If you want to dig deep enough as some are doing what about Maxwell, raided hiss employers pension fund.

Vic dig deep enough and you would find out that Ernest Marples actually started life of as a Labour activist but he soon realised there were more opportunities for bent politicians in the CONservative party.
But I think we can all agree that the last man to enter Westminster with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes.

Lewis, no poli be they Conservative, Labor , Green or Calathumpian goes into parliament for any reason other than for his own good.
Be it for his pension or some times with reasonable ideas for the community.
The ones thta actually run the country are the back ground guys, the department secretaries and others such as treasury.

I would say it would be hard to point the finger at the former Labour MP Frank Field, an honest and decent man. Dennis Skinner was another he may have been a lefty and at times controversial but again an honourable man, Ken Clarke another one not to much mud would be attached
