    Default Gangsey/Gurnsey

I have never heard of a Gangsey, I have heard of a Guernsey even had one but prefer, an Aran. I do not like the look of a Breton. I was really annoyed with my mother when she gave my Icelandic one away.
I am sure some of the older hands will know what I am on about.

I had a Nordic one, my mother put it in the washing machine on a very hot wash, and came out to only fit a midget, kt

Our youngest daughter ( 41....) still wears the navy polo neck sweater with the label, 'Canadian Red Cross' which was given to my Dad in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1944

And probably your Dad was very proud to wear and own it , if it wasn’t for people willing to work and support charitable organisations the world would be a much poorer place .Although on pensions we still support 4 or 5 charities one of which is the flying doctors , which do need support for all their work especially in the outback. Bought a beauty of one in Petticoat Market many years ago.
Wore it for some time, then met the wife who said it needed a wash.
Sadly after that could not find a midget to fit it.

But at eh same market a man was selling Christine Keilor panty hose.
A lady cried out, 'I bought a pair last week and one leg was shorter than the other, I was done'

There you are said the man, another satisfied customer
