I got done in 2012 heading for the Carinryan me and 6 mates. They only did myself and the guy behind me. We were stuck behind 4 wagons. Picked me spot long straight and did the overtake once passed slowed down to 60 again. A few minutes later blues & two's. We were pulled into a lay by officer gets out walks around the bikes and decides to have a word with me as he seemed to know my name (T 200 Lew) Lew , what speed do you reckon you were doing when you went past us? No point in trying to deny anything as I knew he had not stopped us just to look at my nice new Candy Lime Green Kawasaki 1000 SX. The constable was a decent guy to be fair. He understood why we did it and even acknowledged that as soon as we did the over take we came down to 60MPH but!!!! he mentioned that the number of bikers they scrape of that road every year etc!! just take it easy eh!! and he walked away. I started to put my helmet back on again thinking I was good to go. A WPC got out of the car and invited me into the police car and started to fill in the paper work. The constable stuck his head in and told her make sure you call it an SP30. She kicked off as she insisted we had exceeded 100 MPH, that I doubt but on a bike like that !!!anyway thankfully I got a ticket for SP30SP30 – Exceeding Statutory Speed Limit on Public Road £60 fine and 3 points. My mate got done for exceeding 100MPH. The WPC felt insulted when Alan asked her did she not have time for a shave this morning(ouch) she was probably the other side of 45+and was sporting a 5 o clock shadow. I think he got £100 and 3 months ban? It is the A 75 road that , yes? 90 miles from Gretna to Stranraer 2 hours. Yes a road that would need some serious up grade.

Lewis, all ways thought it was legal to break the speed limit to overtake, providing it was safe and you returned to the limit after overtaking.

like you as i overtake i always revert back to the speed limit, but on one occasion after overtaking in my smart red mark 3 cortina, i clipped the front bumper of the wagon and it tore out a piece of the back wing, anyway later on whilst wondering what do with the hole i decided to take my dog out to the beach, and as normal in he jumped into the boot and off we went, i must say that my dog a staffordshire bull terrier made the best of the fresh air as he stuck his head out of the hole and i must say for the next couple of weeks thats how we travelled him growling in the
back and me growling in the front, it must have been like the tv cartoon wacky races for all whom seen us,
just a small reminiscence, to make all smile.
