Default SHELL MEX 4 at Liverpool

    Hi,
I have a photo of Shell Mex 4 in Herculaneum Dock Liverpool in the early 1950's, I have tried all the usual web searches without success.
Looking for some background dat, year built, other names etc, all the usual ship search data.
    Thanks in advance

    Philip

The above link will take you to the online version of Lloyd's Register of Ships where you find the entry for Shell Mex 4. She had a single screw shaft with a continuous liner (1 CL rather than 1 C7 as above) running in a water lubricated lignum vitae bearing. She has a single compound 2 cylinder steam engine of 58 register horse power, steam was provided by a single Scotch boiler with two furnaces working at 180 psi. Hope that helps.
