    AS mate and master, only wanted to DR on one occasion, but after extensive requested from Bosun to relent, as he was a senior communist member in their village, and the others would all be victimised if I sacked him. That explained why they had carried him for 18 months when some days he did not even get out of bed, but never reported sick.

    #31 Hi Colin, I can remember an Irish Bosun a really good guy having a problem with two of the deck crew who would not turn to. He reported them to the Mate who logged them. The next day it was the same logged again. On the third day it was just to much for him, he grab them both by their front appendages and procced to give them a tour around the deck explaining to them this was their place of work and he would expect them to carry out his instructions. It did the trick no more problems.
