Passenger Lists Help Please
Can anyone help me find the passenger lists for the P&O Chusan in 1952, I travelled to Penang Malaya on her with my mother in 1952, she was in Columbo Harbour Ceylon around about the 11th February 1952. I remember this as it was my cousins birthday and the King had died recently.
Also the passenger list for the Troopship Asturias in 1954. I returned to UK from Singapore on her some time after Easter 1954 (April 15th/19th) my last school report from Malaya was from Easter 1954. I had also not long had a birthday which made me old enough to join my parents in the bar. Asturias was the next Troopship back from Singapore after the Empire Windrush caught fire and sank in March 1954. https://blogs.bl.uk/untoldlives/2018...-windrush.html
Thank you in anticipation of any help.

Re: Passenger Lists Help Please
Thank you for the link. I will have a look and see if it helps.
Apart from my birth year at the time the other information matches what I thought I knew.
I had thought that the Chusan had left from Tilbury so London matches this.
I was born in 1940 and was not quite 12 at the time so my age is correct.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Passenger Lists Help Please
Departure Port for the Chusan I believe was Tilbury. Date would be January 1952
Destination was Penang. Arrival date I think would be late February 1952.
My Date of Birth is 21st April 1940. Place Bristol. My name at birth was Steen, I was adopted in 1949 and retained my Christian name of Clifford.....
Age at the time was 11.
Class of Passenger would have been tourist or similar definately not First.
Departure Port for the Asturias was Singapore. Date sometime after Easter 1954.
Destination I believe to be Southampton. Arrival Date mid 1954.
Date of Birth as above. Age at the time 14.
Not sure what they would have as the passenger class as it was a Troopship.
Thanks.

Re: Passenger Lists Help Please
Des, how long where you on the Chusan?
My mate did his first trip to sea on her in 1959 as a bell boy.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
