Panama registered ship records WW2
Hi all,
Would there be any surviving records of ships logs and crew lists available for Panama registered ships in WW2? Where would I find them?
Thanks all

Re: Panama registered ship records WW2
thank you for the interest. As far as I am aware the particular ship whose records I seek was never a war casualty.
I seek detailed records of a ship/tug called Delamar. this is what I know:
Delamar was a US Army tug (USAT) LT797. She was built by Johnson Iron works, New orleans, Circa 1920. In late 1942 she had been damaged and was sent to Barbados for repair in their dry dock. Any and all records of movements from circa November 1942 until mid 1943, including ships logs and crew lists would be very much welcomed!!!! i am trying to fill a gap in family history.
Thank you for our interest

Re: Panama registered ship records WW2
If she was an Army tug, then you would need to contact the US Army Corp of Engineers, don't have their details to hand but a web search should find them, but unless you are an American national they may be reluctant to provide information, this seems to be the norm for any American institution

Hazel
There is an excellent USA run website dedicated to the work of the deep sea rescue tugs operated by America in WW2… try national association of fleet tug sailors.
