Question
This is a delicate question and one I have to ask.
When I update the Obituaries concerning the Vindicatrix,do you think it would be relevant to add what they died of.?
Best Regards

Re: Question
I suppose it is something that you may have to ask the site you get the info from Mike?
Could depend on the dates things happened and the Families wishes??
Just a thought

Re: Question
Good question Mike. Notice of the demise is sufficient in my opinion, reason should not be of concern to anyone on site. Public Notices in newspapers do not give a cause and that should be a guide to this more private medium.

Re: Question
The cause of death is printed in the `Vindi News`, if the family says so.
When my brother Jim died two years ago I put the cause of death in the `VN`. as he was a Vindi Boy in 1947.

Re: Question
I think you have to be careful when putting up things like a cause of death. My own personal experience tells me that when my mother died her death certificate showed epilepsy as a cause of death. The epilepsy was caused by a class of drugs that she was on giving in hospital. But my father was deeply upset that it showed as such on the death certificate. And took it very personal. I don't think we need to know why somebody died just that they have

Re: Question
My brother died of Dementia.
Now he really died of Starvation.
Dementia shuts down part of the brain that controls the appetite, so you are never hungry and do not want any food at all. so he turned from a Big man to a skeleton due to the lack of nourishment.
That is what causes death in Dementia. but that goes onto the Death Certificate.

Re: Question
I have now decided not to add the cause of death.
Thankyou for the input.

Re: Question
Mike as a death certificate is in the public domain and cause of death is included anyone can pay a fee to view it. While researching family history in the Scotland's People web site you can view Birth-Death & Marriage certificates on line for a nominal fee e.g. Birth over 100years Marriage 75years and Death over 50years Out with these years a full fee has to be payed and the copy sent to you by post.
