Via; The Association of Dunkirk Little Ships (official)
More Little Ships on the Thames than on screen at the cinema this w’end.
Sat pm from Hampton to Richmond. Sun am from Hampton to Weybridge.
An important weekend for the Veterans and the Little Ships. 21 Little Ships on the Thames this weekend.
The Annual Veterans Cruise. On Saturday 2 Sep the Little Ships will depart TMYC at Hampton Court at 12.45pm and proceed downstream through Teddington Lock as far as Richmond then return to Hampton Court by 4.30pm. We will be hosting veterans from South Atlantic campaign, Korean War, HMS Belfast Assn the Not Forgotten Assn and the War Widows.
On Sunday 3 Sep, we depart TMYC initially downstream around Ravens Ait then up through Molesey and Sunbury Locks to Weybridge Mariners Club. We will be welcoming veterans from Dunkirk, Normandy, Arctic Convoys, Chelsea Pensioners, Far East prisoners of war and WRENS.
As always we are supported admirably by the TMYC, Weybridge Mariners and Victory Squadron of HMS Collingwood.
We are expecting an excellent turnout of 22 ADLS vessels and we and the veterans greatly appreciate the public coming out to cheer us on.

Re: Dunkirk
Britain’s retreat from France in June, 1940, was brought sharply back into focus this summer by Christopher Nolan and his summer blockbuster ‘Dunkirk.’

Flotilla of Dunkirk ‘little ships’ arrives at St Katharine Docks for Thames Festival.
A flotilla of heroic ‘little ships’ that took part in the 1940 Dunkirk evacuations in the Second World War joins classic vessels at St Katharine’s Docks today.
