Uniform for Chief Officer

My father passed away recently, and he always spoke of his time in the P&O Merchant Navy as a Chief Engineer as some of the best times dad had.

He left in the mid 60s and I wanted to acquire a Chief Engineer's cap for his funeral.

There are so many designs that I am not sure exactly what cap dad would have had during those times as a Chief Engineer, so if someone could please kindly help me to identify what his cap would have looked like I would be most appreciate?

Welcome to the site, So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing my sincere condolences to you and your family, hope someone will come up with a suggestion as to where you can get a cap for you.
In the meantime if you have you Dads discharge book if you list the ships he was on there may be someone on the site who sailed with him.

Valerie, If you dont come up with what you want, You can always obtain a Merchant Navy flag to drape over the coffin, { RED DUSTER } Obtainable from your nearest Seaman's mission on request and promise i am sure to return heartfelt condolences Terry.
