Lewis I hear what you say but would ask the question, here does the concept that if winning the Conservatives will incresae austerity measures?

No country shold live beyonds it's means and, just as a household has to match outgoings with income than gov should do the same.

There are many parts of any gov budget thta can be cut without the electorate suffering.

A snap poll here in Oz shows that 60% would prefer the gov to cut services, apart from social ones, in order to bring the budget back to balance.

The easiest for any gov is to cut hand outs to immigrants who would take gov money rather than work.

a way it's a vicious circle because after years of careful budgeting to put the economy back on track people feel hard done by and fall for Labours tempting giveaways and soft options, Labour get in and usually the economy goes to pot. I can accept
the cuts and tax rise "if it is meant to help the UK" what I can't accept is the amount of money sent abroad in foreign aid and
is not always used for the good causes it's meant for, I think it should be cut and strictly controlled to be used for humanitarian

she is taking this opportunity to get the extra couple of years to sort out the leaving of Europe as said before we are living beyond our means ? stop the lining of a few corrupt countries leaders we give billions that everyone knows dos not go to their people but swallowed up by a few that aid could go to our needy for proper homes care workers who are forgotten and all other needs that we have. we will have a few years of hardship but will come out the other side far better than we went in? jp

the only problem I see to date with the conservative manifesto is their pledge to maintain the ring fenced 0.7% of gdp on foreign aid, just a small percentage reduction in this budget item would go a long way to easing the NHS woes or the Schools problems

#57, I agree with much of what you say there Gulliver, I have been voting for UKIP mainly in support of the Brexit campaign
but I will always think UKIP was a one man party, Nigel Farage was the driving force and the backbone of UKIP, without him
the party is made up of a group of "Wannabe's" I think the party will crumble without NF and especially now Theresa May has
taken up the fight, I honestly believe Nigel Farage should be recognized for his efforts in the fight for Brexit against a very hostile opposition. When I first saw Corbyn would give EU nationals all of the same rights that we have worked and paid in for
over the years, I had a look online and it seems EU nationals in the UK are not entitled to vote in the General Election, so I
can only think he;s playing to the luvvies and blow the expense of all the extra pensions etc, a typical labour throw away of
money without a thought of how it will be paid for. cheers JFC

corbyn could not organise a p.ss up in a brewery . the other clown lib/dems he want open boarders and another referendum so what is left a prime minister who has a plan working on it and upsetting even some of her own but she is living up to the peoples wishes the others would ignore the referendum vote because they think they know better? jp

Spot on again John, it's the party hard liners and unions that are keeping Corbyn in place, the local elections are in May and
could be a good pointer to how popular the parties are and the General Election is only a few weeks later, we've all seen a
few elections in our time so we know that anything can happen, the electorate can be very fickle at times and polls can be
very misleading, we've got so many different nationalities in the UK that can vote and do not agree with our views, who knows
if they will sway the vote?, hopefully Theresa May will win well in both the election and Brexit. cheers JFC
