That is the Ensign of the Royal Merchant Navy School! Cheers
the merchant seamans orphan asylum was founded in the east end of london in 1827, to provide a home for the destitute children of merchant seaman, it moved to snaresbrook, essex in 1862, became the royal seamans orphanage in 1902.moved to berkshire in 1921, and was renamed royal merchant navy school in 1935.since around 1964 it has been an independent school known as bearwood collage.but still provides some places for orphans of merchant seaman.not an easy one vern well done mate regads all terry
