I'm trying to research what ships my dad was on and have had some great help from people on here. I have another couple of questions. My sister remembers dad saying that one of the ships he was on the captain had a monkey as a pet !!! Does this ring any bells. Also he was on a ship and it docked at Argentina he went ashore and saw eva peron giving a spech to the people from her balcony . Any help would be great thanks

Re: Please help
Hi Claire,
a few companies ran down to Buenos Aires and Argentina, Lamport and Holts, Houlder Brothers, Royal Mail Lines, Must have been around 1952 ish when Eva Peron was around I think.
A lot of Seafarers had a monkey as a pet in those days.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Please help
Would be rather difficult to find which Ship was in Port at that time as there are I think some 13 Ports along the Argentina Coast Atlantic Ocean side Montevideo being the more likely? ,Buenos Aires was one of the most popular that is on the Southern side if I am correct but still ??
Cheers

Re: Please help
Eva Peron`s speech was from the balcony of the Pink Palace in Buenos Aires, on the south bank of the River Plate. Argentina.
