Arthur, my first and second trips (Sydney) January to (London) November 1947 as boy and scullion was five pounds a month plus five pounds war bonus. I remember that the talk was when we were in 'channels' mode coming in to London that the war bonus was being cancelled but included in your pay from then on.

Just a footnote for all to remember, 23.40 Hours, Exactly 103 Years ago although not at war the most famous ship in the world struck an iceberg and sealed her fate.
