Re: Liverpool
A red sandstone building surrounded by fields, demolition obviously. As that painting show was done I think within about a mile of the Liver Buildings maybe it was somewhere around Upper Parliament Street.I'l have to try and get it on play back and have a look.

Re: Liverpool
Terry Vic said in#1 he was driving along the river bank when he seen it that's what made me think he was down by the dock.I've just had a look at it on i.player BBC 1 The Big Painting Challenge as it happens it wont take to much of your time as it comes on after 4 minutes.I cant make out the name all I can see is the last part of the name Tavern,it looks Victorian so it must've been an old area at one time, new houses in the background.
Regards.

Re: Liverpool
Vic Looking at that on the TV I think it is where the Carla Lane TV series Bread was shot in Dingle/Aigburth so I suppose you would be going along the river front there. What way do you go home across the Runcorn Bridge.?

Re: Liverpool
#8, Vic, Does it look anything like the derelict pub shown in the credits of "The Likely Lads" where the local youngsters are shown kicking a football around waste land beside it?

Re: Liverpool
Marion, sorry I can't remember.
Jim, that could be the one, memory playing tricks, those look like fairly new houses in the background.
All I can remember is that it was Red Sandstone construction, nothing for (what seemed like) miles in any direction. it obviously had been a built up are that had been cleared as the you could see the road layout surrounding the pub.
