    Default Help tracing Fathers voyages

    Hello all
the first entry in my Fathers discharge book is Anglo Egyptian 135/664611 Immingham 29th Oct 1926, the voyage was to the USA and ended in Immingham on 6 Dec 1926, any information on this ship and her ports of call would be appreciated, his next voyage was on the SS Bellena 14 Dec 1926 from Hull to the west coast of South America, what would this ship be carrying and to which country or ports of call?
    Thanks Donald,

Bellena sailing from Hull, if she was a cargo ship (the boys will find out) then she would probably be carrying all manner of goods, but mostly machinery for the copper mines, pipes for irrigation, household items, wire cables on reels, barbed wire, clothing, automobiles etc, virtually anything that you can think of, including toilet paper and other necessities. Lots of us served on that run in the 50's and 60's and the cargoes didn't change much from the early 1900's

Copies of the Anglo-Egyptian's Log Books and Crew Agreements for 1926 are held in Canada under her Official No. 135166. Her voyage details would be in the narrative section of the Log Book and can be ordered at the link below.

Probably a typo Rob - I reckon its BALLENA official number 143612 (1920 -1933) Pacific Steam Navigation Co.

Same applies for the Ballena Log Books and Crew Agreements held for this ship in Canada for the year 1926.

Thank you all for your quick reply with useful links to my query, much appreciated, my apologies for typing error on the Bellena, well spotted Hugh (must remember to go to spec savers)
Must include Fathers ships on to the site, I am amazed how similar his movements were to my own,
best wishes to you and yours
    Donald.
