Help tracing Fathers voyages

Hello all
the first entry in my Fathers discharge book is Anglo Egyptian 135/664611 Immingham 29th Oct 1926, the voyage was to the USA and ended in Immingham on 6 Dec 1926, any information on this ship and her ports of call would be appreciated, his next voyage was on the SS Bellena 14 Dec 1926 from Hull to the west coast of South America, what would this ship be carrying and to which country or ports of call?

Bellena sailing from Hull, if she was a cargo ship (the boys will find out) then she would probably be carrying all manner of goods, but mostly machinery for the copper mines, pipes for irrigation, household items, wire cables on reels, barbed wire, clothing, automobiles etc,virtually anything that you can think of, including toilet paper and other necessities. Lots of us served on that run in the 50's and 60's and the cargoes didn't change much from the early 1900's

Sold to German owners, in 1927 and renamed Olovsborg. Seized by Brazilian Government, Brazilian flag, in 1942 and renamed Lesteloide. Scrapped at Rio de Janeiro in 1955.

this is the only Bellena I could find ., but this was scrapped 1925 in late Autum

Probably a typo Rob - I reckon its BALLENA official number 143612 (1920 -1933) Pacific Steam Navigation Co.

Sounds more like it Hugh and would tie in with the West Coast of South America run

Thank you all for your quick reply with useful links to my query, much appreciated, my apologies for typing error on the Bellena, well spotted Hugh (must remember to go to spec savers)
Must include Fathers ships on to the site, I am amazed how similar his movements were to my own,
