    Default Ship Trace,

My brother docked in Swansea V.E.Day 8th May 1945 with the passage of time he cannot remember the name of the ship.He tells me it was an Anglo-American tanker.I did put out a request on this once before my brother says I did get a reply with the name of the ship, does anybody remember this?He said i told him that the ship had Sapphire in her name and i told him that it took three weeks from Houston to Swansea.Hugh has tried to help me on this without success but not for the want of trying. My brother is interested in getting his War Medals so he needs this ship and the date to work backwards for ships and movements. It maybe could've been the day before or the day after.
    Regards.

Just to point out though that 'EMPIRE SAPPHIRE' was nowhere to be seen near the UK at the time.
Jim when you were asking me you told me the ship had 'Crystal' in her name - I know Crystal and Sapphire are related but...

Well if one puts the two together then possibly it was the Crystal Sapphire! But not I think from Anglo-American??
    Cheers

Cappy he has lost his book.To get medals you need to proove where you where, get the name of a ship, get the crew list off that and that will tell you your last ship so you work back like that. This is because his records cannot be found at Kew.Maybe it was someone from Swansea who got me the details the last time.

He was asked did he have a war record he replied he had one of Vera Lynns.
