You know this is getting better to get info on this site than going to a government department

By the way Lou you got a mention the other day on Radio Merseyside. He did'nt mention you by name and i just caught the end of itI dont know how it came about but he said "last year I met (I'm not sure if he said interviewed) a chap on the Pier Head he was from Birkenhead he was a Pow met a girl in NZ and got married to her and this is the first time he had been back.He was a bit mixed up but I would say it was definitely you that he was talking about. At the time I was coming to meet you,you said you were interviewed by Radio Merseyside but we never heard it played.I sent this guy an e.mail but it was bounced back for some reason.
    Regards.

    Jim,

Did you ever find a copy of his CRS-10 at Kew? According to the Arnold Hague Port database, there were no shipping arrivals at Swansea on the 8th May 1945.

Hi Billy, the CRS-10 could not be found hence the reason for trying to trace his last ship.He said it could've been the day before or the day after VE Day that he arrived Swansea. He says I got this information before from someone on the site and that the tanker he was on had been at sea 3 weeks from Houston to Swansea.
I think that the ship had Crystal in the name and not Sapphire.

Apart from being a Canadian cargo "victory" class ship, the Crystal Park according to convoy data was in Montreal on VJ Day.
