Discharge Book numbering from WW 2 to 1972 for British seamen

My Discharge book number R767858, February 1962

Many Numbers appearing on this Thread and a Thank You for them all, however if any of you want to be added to my List, i will need your First Ship , Company name

Mick O'Brien's number UK 018117 from 1974 tallies with Doc Vernon's thought that the change from the R prefix to the UK prefix took place in 1972.
Is there anyone with a number issued in the 1968-72 period ?

Mine was R88**** issued in Feb 1970. I recall a few after me had R89 numbers, and possibly there were a sprinkling of R9's before the change to the UK numbers
