    Sorry for the late reply, thank you yes that is him.

    I spent all weekend going through my Grandads paperwork records and this is what I have found.

    Registration number LHK 26996
    Service number KX 636189
    Service 26/10/42 - 26/10/46

    HMS Royal Arthur
    HMS Rosneath

    If anyone can tell me about these ships or any more information I would be really grateful.

    Do you think this information is enough to request an Artic Medal?

    HMS ROYAL ARTHUR WAS NOT A SHIP, IT WAS AN EX BUTLINS HOLIDAY CAMP in Skegness, taken over by the Navy to train new recruits,
    see below, many photos , he could be on one.

    HMS ROSNEATH was also a Navy shore base on the Clyde and was taken over by the USN in August 1942,
