Are you refering to hiring a paid researcher at Kew for records, or waiting for documents you have ordered ?

In my Experiences with this Tony a paid research can take anywhere up to six Weeks!
However if its just to apply for say a Seamans Pouch then it normally takes 10 days to Ausiie anyway!
    Cheers

PS They sold have told you on the waiting periods!

    Tony,

I presume you have asked the Kew research service to search for your dad's CRS 10. If this is the case and you have followed Kew's guidlines then you can expect a reply around 20 days.

For those interested it all depends on whether you are asking for records that come under the Data Protection Act of 1998 or the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

In short, for a living person, this can usually be handled under the Data Protection Act - reply around 40 days.
For a deceased person, this will be handled under the Freedom of Information Act - reply around 20 days.

Online named records such as Pouches are handled differently - quicker, cheaper and less hassle.

    Hope that helps
    Regards
    Hugh

    Keith,

I hope you don't mind but I would offer you this advice which has always served me well.
When requesting information on a forum it is always best to make single requests rather than multiple ones. That way you usually get a reply much quicker and if you don't its because nobody on the forum can answer your question. When you make multiple requests many people lose interest because maybe they can't answer all your questions or they don't have time to do so.

Another point worthy of note is making a separate thread on the subject rather than dive in on someone else's.

This is not meant as a rebuke in anyway and I hope it is not taken as such.

    Regards
    Hugh
