Without the Walter Mitty characters, it would have been a dull place, we knew them for what they were, but it kept us amused, and in the main they never did anyone any harm by their fantasies, and mostly we could walk away shaking our heads and smiling to ourselves.
Well ivan i must just admit that on my ist trip stopping in curacao for fresh foods i was told that the women were of a tribe that there breasts where all on there backs ...so when you danced with them you could enjoy those beuties......now i never really believed it ....but what a wonderful thought....and must admit as we sailed up the main drag i did have a wee peep just to check them out......mind it was a good food for thought
Strangeley enough when i asked how did they feed the babbies the guy looked askance...and as he turned to walk away ...just said papoose....lol cappy
Just collect all the bread you can to feed the mules as we go through the canal.
On one particular job the Chief cook gave the galley boy a sack of carrots to take up up to the bridge, apparently the canal pilot nearly fell over laughing when he walked on the bridge and was asked what he wanted, brought the carrots for mules sir was his reply.Quote:

the other one which was regular was ....on friday it was always fish and chips main course ...cook to galley boy isrt tripper now of you go as tonite we are having ...OLD ENGLISH FISH AND CHIPS HOME STYLE ...KNOCK ON ALL THE CABINS AND ASK FOR OLD NEWSPAPERS TO WRAP THEM IN.....IT WILL BE JUST LIKE HOME ........POOR LITTLE BARSTEWARDS ....but it made us the most resillient young men .....and we learned how to take a joke ....the oldest story was a crowd paying off.... the cook standing at the galley door from the dockside a guy shouted ....hey cookie bet you never found out who pissed in your soup pan ....cook replied well thats true but i sure new who drank the soup ....the old ones are best....happy days
